Instructions for e-Visa India

Visa is a conditional authorization granted by a territory to a traveler allowing them to enter, stay within in or to leave the territory. Earlier, the travelers need to get the India Visa approval from the Indian Embassies situated in their locations. Now the Government has started an online facility that allows travelers under 165 Eligible countries to apply for e-Visa. The submission of visa form will be completely online with their relevant scanned documents i.e. passport and photograph, and visa approved are also mailed directly to them. The travelers have to carry a hard copy of Granted Visa while traveling to India presenting to the Immigration officers in India.

Step 1: Check whether your Country's name appears in the list given below:

The Indian e-Visa Services are eligible for 165 countries. The travelers can check if their country's name is given below for an India e-Visa. If you have a passport of one of the countries from below given list, you can easily apply for entry visa India. The Travelers of Pakistan origin is requested to apply directly for the Indian Embassy in their locations.

Step2: Decide which type of e-Visa you need to apply for?

Indian e Visa has five sub-categories into e-Tourist Visa (for 30 days/01 year/ 05 years), e-Business Visa, e-Conference, e-Medical Visa and e-Medical Attendant Visa.

e-Tourist Visa:-

The traveler who wishes to travel to India for sightseeing, meeting friends or relatives or short-term yoga programs can apply for an Indian e-Tourist Visa. The applicants need to upload their scanned documents i.e. front face photo with a white background and front page of their passport. To apply for e-Tourist visa for India as per the following travel plan: -

• One Month e-Tourist Visa Duration: One Month (30 Days) from the date of grant of ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization).
  Entries: Double Entry, Non-extendable and Non-convertible
• One-year e-Tourist Visa Duration: One year (365 Days) from the date of grant of ETA
  Entries: Multiple
• Five years e-Tourist Visa Duration: Five years from the date of grant of ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization).
  Entries: Multiple Stay:
• Continuous stay during each visit shall not exceed 90 days for countries except USA, UK, Canada and Japan. For USA, UK, Canada and Japan continuous stay during each visit shall not exceed 180 days

e-Business Visa: -

The travelers who want to travel to India for business meetings can apply for an Indian e-business visa. The applicants need to upload their documents i.e. sale/purchase/trade, to set up industrial/business venture, attend technical /business meetings. The applicants need to upload their documents i.e. front face photo with a white background, the front page of their passport and business card/ letter of meeting from Indian Company

e-Medical Visa: -

This visa will be applied by the travelers whose only purpose of visit in India is for some medical treatment. Maximum two attendants with every patient can travel to India and only blood relations are allowed. The applicants need to upload their scanned documents i.e. front face photo with a white background, the front page of their passport and letter approval from Indian medical Hospital stating their name and passport number.

e-Medical Attendant Visa: -

The travelers who have accompanied a patient while traveling to India on an Indian e-Medical visa can apply for an e-Medical Attendant Visa. Maximum two attendant visas can be applied per patient, and only blood relations are eligible for the same. The applicants need to upload their scanned documents i.e. front face photo with a white background and front page of their passport and letter approval from Indian medical Hospital specifying their name and passport number.

Step3. Ensure that you apply for Indian e-Visa within the given time frame: -

After deciding which type of e-Visa the applicant needs to apply for he/she can go forward towards applying for the e-Visa. The applicants have to apply for e-Visa at least 4 days before their date of travel in India.

Step4. The travelers have to check whether they are arriving at these designated airports/seaports.

Airports (i.e. Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bagdogra, Bengaluru, Bhubaneshwar, Calicut, Chennai, Chandigarh, Cochin, Coimbatore, Delhi, Gaya, Goa, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Madurai, Mangalore, Mumbai, Nagpur, Portblair, Pune, Tiruchirapalli, Trivandrum, Varanasi & Vishakhapatnam) and 5 designated seaports (i.e. Cochin, Goa, Mangalore, Mumbai, Chennai).However, the foreigner can take exit from any of the authorized Immigration Check Posts (ICPs) in India.

Step5. Apply online at our website:

Step6. Status in reference to Indian e-Visa: -

• 1. e-Visa fee once submitted is non-refundable as the fee is for processing of the application and is not dependent on either Grant or Rejection of Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA).
• 2. The applicant should carry a copy of Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) along with him/her at the time of travel to India. Please confirm that your ETA status is shown as 'GRANTED' before your journey.
• 3. Biometric details of the applicant will be taken at Airport on arrival in India by the Immigration officer.
